Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 2026. Plumbing Task is designed with a strict privacy-first architecture. We do not sell user data, track your browsing across the internet, or store your diagnostic triage queries.
1. Overview & Core Principles
Plumbing Task is an independent educational publishing website. Unlike contractor lead-generation portals, our site is designed so you can research home plumbing repairs without having your phone number, email, or physical address harvested and sold to marketing call centers.
2. Triage Chatbot Privacy (Zero Data Storage)
Our automated triage assistant ('Plumbing Task Helper') operates exclusively as a client-side JavaScript module executed directly within your web browser.
- No Message Storage: Text typed into the triage helper is never saved to a database, logged to a server, or transmitted to third-party artificial intelligence providers.
- Session Isolation: When you refresh your browser or close the dialog window, your triage message history is completely discarded.
- No Personal Identifiers: The helper never requests your name, phone number, physical address, or payment details.
3. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not deploy invasive marketing trackers, advertising cookies, or cross-site tracking pixels (such as Meta Pixel or Google Ads Remarketing). We do not collect:
- Names, postal addresses, phone numbers, or email addresses.
- Financial or credit card information.
- Precise GPS location data.
4. Server Logs & Technical Delivery
Like virtually all web hosts, the static content delivery network (CDN) that serves our static HTML, CSS, and WebP images temporarily records standard technical connection logs. These logs include your anonymized IP address, user agent string, requested URL, and timestamp. These logs are used strictly for server diagnostics, DDoS defense, and infrastructure security, and are purged on a routine rolling schedule.
5. External Links
Our educational guides link to authoritative external primary sources, including the U.S. Department of Energy, EPA WaterSense, CPSC, and official state contractor licensing boards (such as the California CSLB). We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices of external third-party websites.
6. Policy Updates & Contact
If our privacy practices ever change, we will update the 'Last updated' date at the top of this document. For inquiries regarding our privacy standards, contact us via our contact page.
